Our Story
It all started when…
In December of 2018, Linghong mobilized like-minded students from The University of Edinburgh to address some of the issues surrounding mental health today. This led to the the formation of ‘F.E.E.L.S.’ (Forget Everything Else, Let’s Show!), a social project focusing on emotions and arts.
In society, feelings and emotions are often suppressed in unhealthy ways contributing to a number of mental-illnesses and disorders. Over the years, this has led to a significant increase in mental health problems.
The team hope to tackle these issues through a ground-up community approach by providing a creative space for individuals to celebrate emotions. In line with this, we are organizing an exhibition on 21st and 22nd March 2019, aiming to provide a platform for individuals to showcase their artwork on emotions and feelings. By doing so, we hope to create a safe community space for sharing, accepting, and negating the stigma surrounding emotions and mental health and to encourage and inspire individuals to use creative arts to maintain good emotional well-being and mental health.
We believe that a sustainable way to deal with emotional/mental health issue is to gather together as ordinary people in face of our humanity, vulnerability and imperfectness and share our experience of being humans together.
